Good News For International Seller Clients

Writer's picture: Rebecca BrooksRebecca Brooks

As a leading San Francisco Bay Area team with a niche of representing out-of-area clients, we found that our our international Sellers had a hard time during Covid signing their closing documents. No US Embassies or Consulates were open. With Seller clients in lockdown in Bangkok, one of our closings was delayed by weeks while the Sellers tried to secure an appointment with a US Notary at their nearest consulate. Another Seller was almost forced to take a very expensive round-trip flight home from Mexico just for one day to sign closing papers. Luckily, we were fortunate enough to find a local title company that was familiar with (and authorized to facilitate) Remote Online Notarization. Here in the SF Bay Area, there are very few title companies that offer this option. It's rarely used, as the process is lengthy and complicated and requires extra layers of security. It's good news for our out-of-country Seller clients that National Association of Realtors is pushing for Remote Online Notarization. Click the link to read more ----->https://bit.ly/3JIFXSn
